World 1 - The Core Courses
Upon entering the world of the MET, I first enrolled in four core courses. These courses were set up in a way that I was able to learn key skills, such as getting used to the Blackboard LMS environment; expectations of professors; learning how to work with other MET students in an online environment; and major pedagogical themes that were repeated in future courses. Upon reflection, I feel fortunate that I took these courses prior to my electives, as I know that they prepared me for what was to come.
The four core courses are ETEC 500 (Research Methodology in Education), ETEC 510 (Design of Technology Supported Learning Environments), ETEC 511 (Foundations of Educational Technology), and ETEC 512 (Applications of Learning Theories to Instruction). I will detail my learning experiences beginning with World 1-1.
